Parents of children entering kindergarten or first grade in the Knox County Public School System will need the following information and documents:

• A certified copy of the child's birth certificate
• Immunization records
• The child's Social Security card
• Proof of address

Students transferring into the Knox County Public School System must bring proof of address as well as a copy of their most recent report card.

• Concord School of Grooming - An all breed pet grooming school, for the purpose of training students as professional groomers; authorized for operation as a post secondary educational institution by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
• Fountainhead College of Technology (formerly Tennessee Institute of Electronics Inc.) - The Institute was established in 1947 as the Tennessee Radio Service School and was located at 422 Gay Street. In 1948, the name was changed to Tennessee Institute of Electronics. The college offers education in Electronic Technology, Iinformation Technology, Computer Programming, and Technical Management.
